Reborn Dolls
Sometimes called 'living dolls', 'unliving dolls', and reborn babies, these are the creations of people that spend hours turning a standard doll into a lifelike baby. In order for reborn artists to do this, a doll is taken apart (a reborn doll kit is often used), the eyes and features are removed, and it is then put back together again, filled to make it heavier, new eyes fitted, painted and the hair is individually rooted onto the head (this technique is called microrooting).

You can buy reborn mohair in most colours from the usual shades of browns and blondes to some more extravagant blue/red shades. However, you don’t want to go too drastic as most babies will not have punk-style hair colors! They also come in different types, such as straight, wavy and curly.

They are available in a variety of different colors and you should consider what size eyes you need to get to fit the dolls head. Glass eyes for reborns are a popular choice because they can add that extra glean that plastic ones lack.
